Why Sunrise Manor Homeowners Choose Cambria Construction

We install, repair, and service Cambria quartz countertops throughout Sunrise Manor, from full kitchen slab runs to island tops and backsplashes. As an independent crew, we’re not tied to Cambria or any dealer, so we quote the slab and edge work that actually fits your kitchen, not the one someone needs to move. Most Cambria failures we see are not the slab itself. They’re the install under it: chip-prone sink cutouts, opened island seams, and unlevel cabinet frames that crack the stone over time. That’s where our Cambria work in Sunrise Manor is different. Call (877) 265-5715 to talk through your countertop.

Why Trust Steel Horse Construction for Your Cambria Construction?

We have set Cambria slabs across the Las Vegas Valley for years, and we know the material the way a mechanic knows a transmission: where it holds up, where it doesn’t, and what it needs underneath it to stay flat and true. Russ Dillard, our owner and lead contractor, grew up in Sunrise Manor not far from Nellis Air Force Base and came up through College of Southern Nevada’s vocational program, then spent years on residential and commercial jobs before starting Steel Horse Construction. He’s seen too many countertops fail because someone skipped the sub-top or rushed the polish.

When we work a Cambria countertop, we treat the whole assembly: cabinet frame, support rails, sink clips, seam prep, and edge finish. Cambria is a dense, non-porous quartz. That’s not the problem. The problem, usually, is what it’s sitting on and how the fabricator handled the cutouts. We shim the cabinet frames. We set a plywood sub-top where the slab needs continuous bearing. We cut narrow rails over dishwashers and cooktops with enough meat left so the stone doesn’t bridge and crack. These are the details homeowners don’t see until something goes wrong. We build them in from day one. We build it like it’s our name on the wall, because it is.

Common Cambria Construction Problems We Fix in Sunrise Manor

Here’s what we actually run into on Cambria jobs in Sunrise Manor, and why these things happen:

  • Chipped sink cutouts and undermount edges. Cambria Ella and Brittanicca are both popular in Sunrise Manor kitchens, and both fail at the sink cutout when the fabricator’s polish is too thin or rushed. The edge gets brittle, you drop a cast-iron pan, and a corner pops. We re-polish the edge and, where needed, add a stainless undermount support rail so the sink rim isn’t the only thing carrying the bowl.
  • Seam failure or visible epoxy line on two-slab island runs. A long island in Cambria Brittanicca or Skara Brae usually needs two slabs joined. If the cabinet frame underneath isn’t dead level, the seam opens or the epoxy line reads like a crack. We pull the top, shim and level the base, set a plywood sub-top, and re-seam with spec-matched epoxy. The line disappears.
  • Staining and etching rings from acidic cleaners. Cambria is non-porous, so it won’t absorb wine or lemon juice the way granite will. But harsh acidic cleaners and abrasive pads can dull or abrade the factory polish, and then the surface starts holding marks. We restore the finish with Cambria’s own care products and re-polish where the sheen has gone flat.
  • Cracking over dishwasher or cooktop cutouts. Narrow front and back rails on a cooktop cutout are the weakest point on any Cambria top. Without a proper support rail or a sub-top bearing the load, the slab flexes and eventually cracks right at the corner of the cutout. We reinforce those rails with proven aftermarket hardware on every install and repair.
  • Unlevel slab rocking on an old cabinet frame. Sunrise Manor’s housing stock is heavy with 1960s and 1970s tract homes. Cabinet frames settle, and a heavy Cambria slab set on a swayback frame will rock, stress, and eventually crack along the seam or the cutout. We level the frame before the slab ever goes down. That’s the difference between a ten-year countertop and a fifty-year one.

Cambria Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

We use Cambria’s own care products for cleaning, sealing (you don’t seal Cambria, but you do maintain the polish), and seam touch-up, plus spec-matched epoxy for seams and edge finishing. For anything structural, support rails, sink clips, undermount brackets, we choose proven aftermarket hardware that holds better than the thin kits some fabricators use. That’s a deliberate call, not a cost shortcut.

When a slab is cracked or a seam has failed, we repair when the break is clean and the slab is stable. We replace when the crack runs through a weak rail or the stone is compromised beyond a clean fix. We’ll tell you which is honest for your counter, and we’ll show you why. Call (877) 265-5715 for an assessment before you commit to anything.

Our Cambria Service Process – Step by Step

  1. 1
Site and slab assessment. We inspect the existing counter, cabinet frame, cutouts, and seams. We check for level, sag, and stress points before we quote anything.
  2. 2
Repair or install plan. We shim and level the cabinet frame, set a sub-top where needed, and stage the slab. For repairs, we match the cure time on the epoxy to the slab’s color and edge profile.
  3. 3
Cut, seam, polish, and set. We cut sink and cooktop openings with enough bearing left on the rails, set undermount clips and support rails, seam the joints with spec-matched epoxy, and re-polish all factory edges.
  4. 4
Test and walkthrough. We run a straightedge across every seam, check the slab for movement, and clean the surface with Cambria care products. You walk the counter before we pack up.

We’re a full-scope general contractor, not a countertop shop. We do the cabinet work, the plumbing disconnect and reconnect, the backsplash, and the finish work, all under one contract and one warranty. One contractor. Every phase.

Cambria Products We Service & Install in Sunrise Manor

We install and service Cambria’s full quartz lineup in Sunrise Manor, including Cambria Ella, Cambria Brittanicca, Cambria Torquay, and Cambria Skara Brae. We’ve set all four in this market, and each one behaves a little differently under polish and light. Ella and Torquay are brighter and more forgiving with everyday smudges. Brittanicca and Skara Brae show dramatic veining that makes seam alignment more critical. We stock spec-matched epoxy tints for all of these lines, plus edge profiles and sink rails, so most service calls don’t wait on a parts order.

We also spec and install quartz across Silestone and Caesarstone when another slab fits the job better. We spec the brand that fits the job.

We Also Service These Brands

Along with Cambria, we install and service KraftMaid cabinetry, Silestone quartz, Kohler and Toto plumbing fixtures, and every other brand that touches a kitchen or bath. That matters when a countertop job turns into a cabinet, sink, or backsplash job midstream. You don’t chase another contractor. You call us.
