Tremron Construction in North Las Vegas, NV | Steel Horse Construction
Steel Horse Construction provides independent Tremron installation and repair across North Las Vegas Home Remodeling, from paver driveways and patios to retaining wall block and pool coping. We’re not a Tremron dealer or authorized shop, and that’s deliberate: we install their products because they hold up on graded desert lots better than most concrete pavers we’ve seen. The thing that separates our North Las Vegas Tremron work is base prep. Call us at (877) 265-5715 for a free estimate on new installs or repair work.

Why North Las Vegas Residents Choose Us for Tremron Service
Russ Dillard grew up in Tremron in Sunrise Manor and spent years working residential and commercial jobs across this valley before starting Steel Horse Construction. He’s walked enough North Las Vegas job sites to know what happens when a paver base gets laid thin over caliche: the field rocks, the edges spall, and the homeowner pays twice. We spec the brand that fits the job, and in this part of the valley, Tremron’s pavers and wall block earn their keep when the base underneath is built right.
Our crews have installed and repaired Tremron products across the North Las Vegas service area, from the 89084 and 89085 growth corridor up toward Apex to the older 89030 core. We carry local stock of polymeric joint sand, aggregate base, and edge restraints that match Tremron’s dimensional specs, so repair work doesn’t stall waiting on a parts truck from across the valley.

Common Tremron Construction Problems We Solve in North Las Vegas
Here are the failure patterns we see most often on North Las Vegas Tremron installs, and what they usually trace back to:
- Efflorescence and salt bloom after monsoon rain. North Las Vegas gets flash floods in July and August, then the sun bakes everything dry within days. That wet-dry cycle pulls natural salts up through fresh concrete pavers and leaves a chalky white haze. The real culprit is usually drainage: if the base doesn’t shed water, the pavers soak and bloom gets worse.
- Edge spalling and rocking pavers on raw caliche. The 89084 and 89085 corridor sits on graded desert caliche. When installers lay a Tremron field directly on that soil without over-excavating and compacting a proper aggregate base, the pavers settle unevenly, grind against each other, and chip at the edges. We see this within the first year on a lot of new-build driveways.
- Joint sand washout on sloped driveways. A lot of North Las Vegas tract homes have driveways pitched toward the street. Monsoon runoff channels down those slopes hard, and if the joints weren’t filled with quality polymeric sand and the edges weren’t restrained, the sand washes out and pavers start to migrate.
- UV fading and dust-glaze dulling. Pigmented Tremron pavers and caps in North Las Vegas sit under 110°F-plus direct sun for months at a time. Add wind-driven desert dust grinding into the surface, and unsealed pavers lose their color within a few seasons. A matte sealer applied early makes a real difference out here.
- Settlement on uncompacted fill. North Las Vegas new builds sit on freshly graded lots, and some builders backfill around house perimeters fast. Tremron walkways and patios set on that loose fill settle within a season, leaving low spots that pond water and freeze-thaw isn’t even the issue here – it’s simply compaction.
Tremron Service in North Las Vegas: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Pavers
The single biggest factor in whether a Tremron install survives out here isn’t the paver. It’s the base. North Las Vegas is pushing new subdivisions into raw Mojave desert north and west of the older core, and the soil in the 89084/89085/89081 growth corridor is mostly caliche – a hard, cemented layer of calcium carbonate that laughs at a hand tamper. Under it, expansive clay soils swell and shrink with whatever moisture they get. If you lay a Tremron paver field directly on that ground without over-excavating to remove the caliche and then compacting a proper aggregate base, the field will settle within a single monsoon season. Not might settle. Will settle. We routinely see driveway aprons off the northern growth corridor that were installed with a thin sand bed over raw caliche, and by the next summer the pavers are rocking under foot and joint sand is gone. The fix isn’t another layer of pavers. It’s digging down, building a real base, and re-setting the field so water sheds toward the street instead of pooling underneath.
Tremron Models & Products We Service in North Las Vegas
We install and repair the full Tremron sales & service product range that shows up in North Las Vegas yards and driveways. That covers the Oldcastle hardscape paver line, both the asphalt-style profiles and the tumbled finish units, along with Tremron’s segmental retaining wall block systems for grade changes on sloped desert lots. We also set and repair Tremron bullnose pool coping and step treads on backyard pool decks, and we re-lay paver driveways throughout the master-planned tracts off the I-15 and Apex edge.
When a section of an existing Tremron field fails, we match genuine Tremron units to the existing color and profile. For the working parts of the install – base aggregate, polymeric joint sand, edge restraints – we use aftermarket products that we’ve tested on North Las Vegas soil and trust to outperform the OEM accessory specs. Repair-versus-replace comes down to the base: if the units are sound and the issue is joint sand or edge restraint, we re-lay and re-sand. If spalling or settlement has compromised the structural layer, we pull the field, rebuild the base, and re-set the same good units where they survive, replacing only what’s actually failed.

AfterTremron Service Pricing in North Las Vegas
Here’s what Tremron paver and concrete work runs in North Las Vegas right now, based on the jobs we’ve bid across the 89084, 89085, 89086, and 89030 areas:
| Service | Typical Range in North Las Vegas |
|---|---|
| Paver Driveway Installation | $7,000 – $18,000 |
| Paver Patio Installation | $3,500 – $11,000 |
| Concrete Driveway Installation | $4,500 – $12,000 |
What drives most of the variance is the same thing that determines whether the job lasts: what’s under the surface. If we’re pulling up an old failed field and over-excavating caliche, that’s different from laying fresh on a prepared pad. Drainage, slope, and how much edge restraint the layout requires all move the number. A free estimate from our General Contractor in North Las Vegas includes a look at your soil and grade, not just a tape measure on square footage. Call (877) 265-5715 and we’ll walk the site and give you a written line-item quote.

FAQs – Tremron Construction in North Las Vegas
That white haze is efflorescence – natural salts in the concrete migrating to the surface after the pavers get soaked by monsoon rain and then dry out fast in desert heat. North Las Vegas gets exactly that cycle every summer. It’s cosmetic, not structural, and it usually comes off with a proper paver cleaner. But if it keeps coming back year after year, we look at drainage: water pooling under the field keeps pulling salts up. Call (877) 265-5715 and we’ll tell you if it’s a cleaning job or a drainage problem.
Not if you want them to stay flat. Caliche is cemented desert soil that doesn’t compact well without over-excavating first, and North Las Vegas’s 89084 and 89085 corridor sits right on top of it. Laying Tremron pavers directly on caliche means settlement, rocking units, and edge chipping within a season or two. The base has to come out, get replaced with compacted aggregate, and be graded to shed water. Skipping that step is how we get called in to redo other contractors’ one-year-old installs.
The heat itself won’t crack quality concrete pavers, but 110°F-plus direct sun combined with wind-driven desert dust absolutely dulls the surface color over a few seasons, especially on pigmented units. A penetrating sealer applied early keeps the color longer and makes the dust easier to wash off. Unsealed pavers in North Las Vegas don’t fail structurally from UV, but they lose their look faster than most homeowners expect. We can assess your field and recommend a sealer schedule that fits where you are in the valley.
Sloping toward the street is normal and correct for drainage – the problem is that monsoon runoff moves fast enough to carry the joint sand with it. The fix is re-sanding the joints with a quality polymeric sand, then confirming the edge restraints are intact so the field can’t migrate under the force of the water. If the slope was originally graded wrong and water sheets across instead of channeling, we re-grade the field to direct runoff properly. Call (877) 265-5715 and we’ll look at your slope and tell you what’s actually happening.
Usually, yes. Tremron’s Oldcastle line has been used widely across North Las Vegas subdivisions, and most current color blends are still in production. When a section spalls or settles, we pull the damaged units and match them to the existing field in profile and color. If settling compromised the base under that section, we don’t just patch the surface – we rebuild the base for that area first, then re-set. Patching over a failed base just means replacing the same pavers again in a year.
